OUR LOCATION
In the beautiful, historic town of Grove City, PA. With a population of about 8,000, Grove City is located 60 miles north of Pittsburgh. Our plant, at 629 West Main Street, is just minutes from the junction of interstates 79 and 80. If you're ever in the area, please consider visiting our retail store, which sells a variety of bulk and brand name candies, as well as our fresh roasted coffee and nuts. Our retail store is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The retail store is closed on Sunday.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, American Express or PayPal. For those wishing to pay by check or money order, you must place your order over the phone during normal business hours at 800-367-4693, ext. 240. A $3.00 processing fee is added to phone-in/mail-in orders.
SHIPPING POLICY
We ship all orders via UPS. Real-time UPS shipping rates can be viewed from our shopping cart and at checkout. Customers simply need to enter their zip code to view rates for UPS Ground, UPS 2nd Day and UPS Next Day Air. Most UPS Ground orders are processed and shipped within five business days. UPS 2nd Day and UPS Next Day Air orders usually ship the same day if received before 11:00 a.m. ET Otherwise, expedited orders will ship the next business day. If you desire rush delivery, please call us after placing your order at 800-367-4693 ext. 240 so that we can flag your order.
With regard to our previous free shipping offer on orders of $25 or more . . . The price of shipping has become very expensive. High fuel prices alone are affecting every consumer and company. Free shipping by any business must be covered in the cost of the products. We made the decision to lower the price on more than half of our products and simply “pass through” the UPS charges. In making this decision we realized that not every individual customer would benefit by this change. In order to maintain a fair profit margin we were faced with increasing prices across-the-board or reducing prices and charging separately for shipping. We chose the latter after much thought, discussion and comparison with other companies who sell the same products that we do. Finally, we continue to stand behind the quality of our products coupled with a high service level. We are grateful for loyal customers and hope that you will remain or become a customer of www.georgehowe.com.
DELIVERY TIME
We strive to ship all orders from our factory within three business days, however, the total number of days that it will take for your package to arrive is determined by your U.S. location.
USERNAME AND PASSWORD
In launching our new website, all of the previously entered customer data was cleared for privacy sake. Please enter your email address and choose a password to begin a new account with us when you place your next order. You will find that your new account has better features than our previous website.
PHONE-IN/MAIL-IN ORDERS
Phone-in orders may be placed by calling 800-367-4693, ext. 240 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. ET. Mail-in orders may be placed by printing out your shopping cart page and mailing it along with a check or money order to: George J. Howe Company, c/o Web Store, P.O. Box 269, Grove City, PA 16127. While we do not add a processing fee to orders placed directly on our website, a $3.00 service charge is added to orders placed over the phone or through the mail.
WARM WEATHER SHIPMENTS
To help keep your candy cool in transit, please consider adding one or more reusable Polar Packs to your order. These remain cold for 2-3 days and are lined with a special moisture guard to reduce condensation. The George J. Howe Company will not be responsible for melted candy.
WHOLE POUND QUANTITIES
When shopping at our web store, please remember that most items are available in whole pound quantities only (1 pound, 2 pounds, 3 pounds, etc.). Unless specified, none of our items are packed in fractional quantities (1.5 pounds, 2.25 pounds, 3.75 pounds, etc.). Thank you!
GIFT ORDERS
Our neatly packed boxes of goodies make perfect gifts. We'll tuck a handwritten gift card inside each box with your personal message. Simply type your note into the "Special Instructions" section of our on-line order form.
APO/FPO ORDERS
The George Howe Company happily ships to APO/FPO addresses. The U.S. Postal Service Priority shipping fee will be added to your final total. If you choose to place such an order via the web, simply include the complete address in the "Shipping Information" section of our on-line form and select "District of Columbia" in the "State/Province" drop-down box. Or you may place your order over the phone by calling us toll-free at 800-FOR-HOWE (800-367-4693). Please ask for extension 218 or 240.
TAX
A 6% sales tax will be added to West Virginia orders. Tax will be added on candy items only for orders shipped to Maryland (5%), New York (6%) and New Jersey (7%).
CREDIT CARD SECURITY
Shopping at our web store is safe and secure. Because all orders are processed through a secure (SSL) connection, none of our customers have reported any credit card fraud as a result of placing orders with us. For added security, we do not store your credit card number in our database. Your credit card information will only be used to process the current transaction.
